The “Re-Auction” auctions are LIVE!

Don’t know what I’m talking about? Read about advertising on Mister Good Guy.

If you’ve ever wanted to see an ad for your site on another blog, now is the time to take action.

Read more after the Mona Lisa (but please do have a look at the sites linked from the image!).

The Re-Auction is LIVE!

I’ve taken the first big step to generating an income stream from this site by offering an online advertising and promotion package. If you follow that link you’ll get more details but essentially you’re bidding on an ebay auction to have a 125×125 pixel banner ad over in the right hand sidebar along with a promotional package which includes a 200 word text and links back to your site.

This kind of sidebar advertising is common throughout the blogosphere but normally you’d expect to pay a fixed price i.e. a price that’s already been set by the site owner and possibly a price that’s out of your range.

I’ve decided to auction the advertising starting at $0.99. Setting a low starting price allows the market to set the value of the ads. It’s also more interesting and compelling and there’s a chance for people who wouldn’t normally be able to afford such ads to get their site on display.

The idea of auctioning and then re-auctioning the advertising every month keeps the process alive and vibrant.

And committing to donating a percentage of the profits gives it added significance.

I have no idea whether there’ll be any take-up at all with this. I hope so because it’s a good deal and it’s good fun. I’m also looking forward to inviting you to decided which good cause should benefit from a donation.

Tell Someone About It

If this isn’t for you, that’s OK, but please consider telling someone who may be interested and may benefit from the offer.

The First Two Auctions

The No. 1 Advertising Placement is being auctioned here

The No. 6 Advertising Placement is being auctioned here

The others will be auctioned throughout the day and you’ll be able to see when they’re live as there’ll be a red text under the ad placement directing you to the auction page.

And please remember you don’t have to take up the offer of the full promotional package. If you wish you can just have the 125×125 ad.

Thanks for reading

Any other time I would be all over this Dave, however I’ve currently got the chance to achieve a dream of my own, so I’m frantically working/saving to get the money together to do so. I’ll help you promote all I can though!

Right! That’s it! Our friendship is OVER!!

LOL :D

Absolutely no problem Danny. I’m just grateful you’re supporting me in other ways.

Listen, what’s the dream? I have to know! I love to hear about people’s dreams. Can you even say in an open forum? Is it legit or are you fencing diamonds?

Haha!

No it’s very innocent. In fact to most people it’s probably nothing. For as long I can remember I’ve always wanted a pool/snooker table but due to a big family/small house combination it’s never been possible. Long story short: I purchased a 7′ x 4′ table last night and I’m currently planning and raising funds to build a (shed-like) building for it.

This isn’t a lavish purchase or manufactured desire, snooker is by far my favourite hobbie and this will enable me to vastly improve.

Good for you! I love a game of pool but I’m pretty rubbish at it. I haven’t played that game for at least 15 years! I haven’t played snooker in 20 years!!

You’ll need a BIG old shed then!? :D

Yep, a SUPER big shed. More than likely going to build it with my dad, he’ll be doing most of the work while I stand around looking useful! =P
