I’m so glad to be back to the site again after being sick for a couple of weeks. The enforced break hasn’t done me any harm and in fact may have done me some good.
While I’ve been away the site has broken the 500,000 mark on the Alexa rankings, which is not a massive deal in the scheme of things but I’m happy to cling to every success.
I’m also delighted to see a big jump in Page Rank (PR) too. PR is not the be all and end all but it’s another indicator that the site is doing well. So thanks to all of you who’ve linked to the site or thrown me a spot in your sidebar. I still have no idea how many of you have linked as my dashboard still refuses to admit there are links coming in. But thank you!!
Thanks also for the Stumbles and other bookmarking you’ve been doing for me.
Yesterday I offered another five free sections on the Mona Lisa and I’m really pleased to see that Tracy, whose latest post is a review of The Reinvention of Edison Thomas, has taken one of the spaces. Maggy who creates unique hand made pop art paintings has taken another and Emma who has a great review of Green & Blacks chocolate has taken the third.
There are still two spaces left so go grab one right now!

Dave, you’re making great progress. Any victory is worth celebrating. And milestone is valid. You’re right that pagerank and alexa aren’t everything, but they ain’t nothing either:) You deserve all the good things that are coming to you!
Take care, friend.

Josh, your comment made my day. Thank you.
I must admit that I was tempted not to mark the milestones through fear of being seen to gloat, but the fact is, I didn’t do it all by myself. I had the help of the people who come to the site and I felt it was important to acknowledge the contribution of those lovely people and share the success.
It’s very nice to see you here. A very pleasant surprise. Thanks for dropping in!
There are ways to acknowledge success without gloating. Most people aren’t very good at them, but they do exist:)

Ah yes, it’s a neat trick if you can pull it off!
I’m happy with your progress Dave. It really feels good to be rewarded with all of our hard work, it makes all our efforts worth.
Wishing you more success.
