They've covered my doctor's visits, most of my meds, pulmunary rehab, all that. But as far as the transplant is concerned, they will pay $40k towards the procurement of the new organs and another $40k towards the actual procedure itself. Then to compounds matters, the transplant centers require that since I (and many others, I'm sure) have to raise the money privately, I am required to raise $1,000,000.00 for an operation that has an average cost of $550,000.00. A good cause for sure. He explained that even though he has health insurance it does not cover the full coverage of the 1 mil. dollar surgery.
