Posting on a daily basis is definitely something I want to do here, but I’ve had my fair share of growing pains with this project and haven’t managed to do it.
In its original format this site was designed to require minimal input from me. I set it up this way deliberately because I knew I had a very limited amount of time each day to devote to it, what with me being a full time parent to four young children.
When it didn’t quite work out as planned I devoted ever more time to make it work, but this came at the expense of my real job… running the home and raising the children – and sadly it didn’t seem to make a great deal of difference to the success of the project.
It’s a shame I lost confidence in the format so early on because actually I wasn’t a million miles from where I needed it to be. I suspect that if only I’d persisted, I wouldn’t have been sidetracked by trying to provide a ‘service’ and we’d be doing a whole lot better right now – but not to worry – it can be fixed.
I know now that I need to devote more time to this than originally planned but I also know that it needn’t be all consuming.
I just need to recapture my faith in the concept and push it along. I’ve made a few lifestyle changes to accommodate this but there’ll be a transitional period whilst I get used to the changes.
Quick Update
Last week I offered a few more spaces on the Mona Lisa and frankly it’s no surprise that there have been no offers. I don’t feel bad about that, I’ve lost momentum here so it’s understandable.
I’m playing catch-up now, so it won’t be long before I’m back on my game here.
And whilst I’m playing catch up… I’d like to mention Ciall Kennett who owns on of the sections on the Mona Lisa (R2/133 (bottom left corner)).
Ciall, you’ve updated the look of your site and you’ve also changed the web address. I have known about this for some time as I updated my RSS subscription to your site when you made the changes, but I forgot to change it on the Mona Lisa. Sorry about that. I’ve changed it now.
