When did you last call your granny?

You’re a good grandson or granddaughter so you phone your lovely granny every couple of days just to say a quick hello. But for whatever reason you haven’t phoned grandma for a couple of weeks now and you feel guilty about it.

You can’t quite summon the will power to get on the phone because you know you’ve left it too long. So you leave it another week rather than face the trauma of making the call. Trouble is, the guilt just gets worse and now it’s becoming awkward. So you leave it another week and not only is it awkward, it’s now embarrassing!

It’s a feeling I know all too well, not just because of my gran but also because of you!

It’s not you; It’s me.

When each of you expressed an interest in this project I sent you an email with a list of options and waited for a reply. Unfortunately I managed to get the flu and was sidelined for a few weeks. I lost some impetus and failed to follow up on any of those emails.

It’s a shame I didn’t because I’ve missed an opportunity to engage the people who were good enough to show an interest in the first place.

Over the next few days I’m going to write to you all again and invite you back. I’d dearly love to see you participate in the project and get some real value from it.

I suspect that many of you were scared off at the prospect of writing a promotional text about your site. I understand that, because not everyone is comfortable with self promotion!

From this point, if the only thing you want is the link on the Mona Lisa, then that’s fine by me.
