When I came up with the idea for this site I wondered whether Mister Good Guy would be problematic name. I mean who has the arrogance to appoint himself Mister Good Guy, surely that’s for other people to decide?
I concede that the name I’ve chosen for the site could be turn out to be a mistake, but I needed an umbrella name to encompass different projects all of which are based around donating the majority share of the income to good causes.
I certainly don’t want to set myself up as the best thing since sliced bread or pretend in any way that I’m perfect. I’m not. Nowhere near it!
But I am a guy who nearly always does the ‘right thing’… eventually (because like I said, I’m not perfect. Sometimes I have to overcome my pride first!).
The right thing with this project is to donate the greater part of the profits to charity and good causes.
It’s very early days so really I have no idea how much cash will come in through my paypal account. But even if I don’t raise 1 million I’ll still do what I said I’d do and donate the money, and what’s more I’ll do it in an obvious way to demonstrate that I’ve done it.
I’ve often felt that good guys (and I include the female gender here) seem get a rough deal in life. I’ve got this notion that it’s the sharks and the unscrupulous who end up doing very nicely indeed, and the honest majority who struggle along. So with this project I want to prove myself wrong, I want to prove that good guys can indeed prosper and that it doesn’t have to be to the detriment of someone else.
Thanks
Dave
