Looking For Good Causes To Promote

Interest in the Mona Lisa Million is starting to pick up now, and that’s fantastic! I’m so pleased.

It was always going to be slow at the start as it takes time for a project like this to find the attention of a wider audience.

I’m confident that this project will be a success and draw a sizeable audience and for that reason I want to go even further in sharing the benefits of a site like this.

Whilst I have already picked a couple of good causes to support through the Mona Lisa Million, namely the aid appeal for Haiti and the Million Book Giveaway, there is another way I can help other good causes.

When I update progress on the Mona Lisa Million I’d like to lead in to it with a guest post from a another blogger or website about a good cause they support. Clearly it needs to be a genuine good cause and one which can easily be verified.

Regularly I see tweets and blog posts about extremely good causes that fail to get the attention they deserve and I believe that through this site I can help them reach a wider audience and benefit from the additional publicity for their good causes.

I know it seems like a nonsense talking about it this way in only the second week of going live, but with the help of the readership and the existing “sponsors” to spread the word through Stumble, Digg, Twitter, blog posts, etc., we can make it happen.

So what I’m looking for is a guest post somewhere between 250 and 500 words (just as a guide) outlining what the cause is, how people can help and where to get more information, oh, and maybe some pictures too.

The post can contain a reasonable amount of links to your site and any official ’cause’ website.

What sort of good cause? Initially I’m thinking of human interest causes – helping the sick and injured for example. As a father of 4 I’m especially interested in raising the awareness of good causes and charities relating to children.

If you have a good cause please let me know in the comments and I’ll email you directly.

If you know of anyone who has a good cause, please let me know in the comments and let them know about this site.

In the meantime please spread the word about the Mona Lisa Million and please subcribe to the RSS feed.

Thanks

Dave

Hey Dave,

My charity idea is now public and has a mailing list (sign up if you haven’t already).

I’d be more than happy to be the first in this series.

Thanks!

Dave, this is an great idea.

I would love you to check out http://www.samuelmorrisfoundation.org.au (I am a founder and the Managing Director), we support children who have been disabled by near drowning or other hypoxic brain injuries. (Sadly drowning is one of the top three causes of death in children aged 0-4 in all developing countries (and the stats are even worse in the developing world)

(and I blog over at themickmorris.com, if you would like to check that out too)

Mick, thank you for dropping by and reading. This is exactly the kind of cause I’d love to help promote through the site. I’ll drop you a line via email.
