Hello, welcome to Friday on the Mona Lisa Million
This site is all about getting noticed, and hopefully without going to extremes like Michael Fagan did on this day back in 1982…
On 9th July 1982 the then 31 year old Michael Fagan broke into Buckingham Palace and entered the bedroom of Queen Elizabeth II. Fagan sat on the Queen’s bed talking to her for ten minutes before he was discovered by Palace staff.

A Better Way to Get Noticed: Sponsor a section of the Mona Lisa and know that you’re helping to support good causes whilst at the same time getting some excellent promotion for your website or business. Every month at least 50% of the after tax profits will be donated to good causes nominated and chosen by the readers. To sponsor a section of the image visit this page and find out how I’ll help you promote your website.
I have to admit that when it comes to getting your name out there, breaking into the Queen’s bedroom is pretty spectacular but I don’t recommend it to you. Not unless you want to spend the rest of your days locked in The Tower of London.
My suggestion to you is to sponsor a section of my Mona Lisa picture and let me shout your name from the pages of MisterGoodGuy.com. I’ll also spread the word on Twitter and you won’t even need to dust off your housebreaking tools and balaclava.

General Update
Right back at the start of this project I identified 2 causes I wanted to support, one was the aid appeal for Haiti and the other was the Million Book Giveaway. I intended to wait until all the the pieces of the Mona Lisa had sold expecting the process to take somewhere between 6 and 9 months, before handing over the donations. But it’s already been 5 months so I wanted to find a way to liven this process up and reasoned that donating money on a monthly basis might be a better way to go.
Haiti and the Million Book Giveaway will always be standing items but I want to encourage you to nominate good causes that are meaningful to you. There’s an opportunity to write about the cause and include links back to the website.
I’ll put some or all of the nominations (depending on how many are made) together in a post and then start a poll. You can then vote for your preference. Ideally you might also encourage your friends to vote.
So if you have a good cause you’d like to nominate please let me know in the comments below or alternatively, drop me a line at davefowler [at] mistergoodguy [dot] com
Just so you know, I’ll be nominating these Good Causes:
Haiti (Shelter Box)
Million Book Giveaway
New Lungs for Chuck
Cancer Research UK
Advanced info
I hope to bring you a new Mona Lisa Millionaire next week. This was an offer I made some weeks ago and the lovely person involved asked whether I;d wait until she;d done a site redesign. The site is done now and I can’t wait to share it with you.
Still no paying customers which I desperately need if we’re to have anything at all to donate. I’d love it if you could continue to tweet about the site or even re-tweet the stuff I put out there. My Twitter followers continue to grow but I don’t have anything like the numbers we could reach if we combined forces. Stumbles and Diggs are also greatly appreciated.
Mona Lisa Millionaires
Still no new sign-ups so it remains my total pleasure to link out to some of you with spaces on the Mona Lisa.
Melissa at Smitten By Britain posted an article highlighting Ten Things Brits Do Better Than Americans. If you like pub names which include the other name for male chickens you’ll enjoy this slightly irreverent and very amusing take on the British way of life.
I know from speaking to a few of my American chums that they enjoy British TV, so I thought you might like to know that Melissa also published a piece on how to Watch British TV Anywhere The World.

Hi Dave,
How about adding the NSPCC to your list of worthwhile causes?

Hi Strawbs, sounds good. We’ll see how many nominations we get and then perhaps we could get nominees to write a short piece on their chosen good cause and then put them all up for a vote? Would that work for you?
