I’m delighted to announce that Jay Mountford Photography is the first paying sponsor to join the Mona Lisa Million Project.

And I’ve got to tell you I’m thrilled to bits.

You might think that’s an exaggeration, but I promise you it’s not. And you’ll understand why I feel this way after tomorrows post.

We already have plenty of fabulous sponsors who joined with promotional (free/nominal fee) sponsorships but this event marks a great moment for this project.

This is the moment when the Mona Lisa Million Project finally begins to meet its potential to raise money for charities chosen by you.

As you may already have gathered, 25% of each sponsorship fee is donated to good causes through the Charity Challenge, so in addition to getting some great publicity and promotion, sponsors know that a large proportion of their fee will be used to support good causes.

This huge turning point came when when Jay, who you might otherwise know as Mocha Beanie Mummy demonstrated her faith in the project by paying a $46 sponsorship fee.

It’s a big deal for me and for the project because Jay is well established and respected online, with a number of trusted sites, so I hope other people will now have the confidence to follow her example and purchase a paid sponsorship.

Let me tell you a little about Jay’s site which is linked from section R5/12 of the Mona Lisa.

If you’re looking for a Wedding photographer in Birmingham and the West Midlands, then you must drop by Jay’s site and have a look. I’d spend time trying to convince you that Jay is fantastic photographer but I couldn’t do her justice.

I’m not saying this because Jay is my first sponsor, I’m saying because it’s true.

Look for yourself:

There’s more to see in the gallery so why not drop in and have a look at:

I look forward to publishing more of Jay’s photographs in a featured post coming soon.
Thanks Jay for being my first sponsor and thanks for supporting the Mona Lisa Project.

Hi Erica, thank you. It’s taken a while but we got there. :D

Jay was brilliant to sponsor so much money especially when she could have offered so much less.

I am really pleased, and I’m grateful for your support.

Dave, Dave, Dave,
Congratulations! What a fantastic first sponsor. Jay’s days on blipfoto.com was one of my favourites although she seems to have gone quiet recently… and then one day Tara at Sticky Fingers bought a new camera and got her friend Jay to take her out and show her how to use it and then posted the results on her website. Both fabtastic bloggers, in my view. I have had no inspiration at all recently, so thought that maybe a QUESTIONNAIRE might provide some good material, hint hint. (Why have you abandoned me so, oh Moaning Lisa???????) I still have some cash burning a hole in my pocket, by the way so I’ll do you a swap. Answers for Cash$$$! Anyway, looking forward to seeing what’s coming soon. Hope all is fine and dandy in the Dave household, Purplejake.

Hahaha. Love it!!

The questionnaires have long been abandoned, getting people to respond to them was like pulling teeth. I should point out that it wasn’t their fault it was mine. It was all too long winded. :D

I have a new idea for the Mona Lisa, it’s much simpler and will (when I’ve transferred it across to its new home) be much better.

And yes, Jay and Tara are both fabulous. :D

I’ll let you know when I’m up and running with the new place.

Reading your comment made me laugh… and thanks for keeping me in mind. :)
