Giving Away Five Sections Of The Mona Lisa

by Dave

Post image for Giving Away Five Sections Of The Mona Lisa

This is the one where I offer five sections of the Mona Lisa Million picture for free.

The first five readers to comment on this post indicating they want in, will be offered a section on the outer ring of the image as indicated below.

This is provided your site meets the terms and conditions, specifically, points 17, 18 & 19 (reproduced at the bottom of the page).

I make no apology for the fact that I don’t really want the Mona Lisa project associated with spam and shonky goods or services. I wouldn’t be doing myself a favour, I wouldn’t be doing you the reader any favours and I wouldn’t be doing the other ‘advertisers’ and favours.

I’m happy as Larry to have bloggers as well as well as businesses, linked from the site. I’m not looking for highly polished end products or whizz-bang websites. I’m not trying to set the gold standard here, I’m not trying to be elitist – not all products and services are created equal and that’s absolutely fine.

As long as you’re genuine and your site, product or service is genuine and designed to help, engage or entertain we’re good to go.

Ultimately it’s up to the consumer to decide but I want to try my best to weed out some of the spam and the clag and the junk that litters the web. You can’t blame me for that now, can you? :)

If you want an idea of sites I’m happy to link to, then take a look at the sites on the grid below. These people are mostly friends or people/sites I enjoy reading – not all of them are pro-bloggers or businesses but they are all genuine endeavours.

Please wait for the image to load.

I’ve turned comment moderation off (for the moment) so you should have no problem getting through.

Remember you have to let me know you want in, because some people may just wish to comment and not be linked.

1st Comment will be allocated grid ref: R1/186
2nd Comment will be allocated grid ref: R1/184
3rd Comment will be allocated grid ref: R1/182
4th Comment will be allocated grid ref: R1/180
5th Comment will be allocated grid ref: R1/178

Please wait for the image to load.

I’ll leave this post at the top of the front page until all five have been taken.

And if you miss out this time, it’s not a problem, I’ll give away more sections soon enough.

If this is your first time here, you might want to read: Introducing The Mona Lisa Million

Thanks

Dave

Dave, this is such a wonderful endeavor—and so creative. I hope you succeed beyond your wildest imaginings, and I want to do what I can to help. I’ll promote your site wherever I can, as often as I can, even in personal e-mails and not just with the occasional social media link. I about fell off my chair when I saw Random Meanderings in your example grid. What an honor; huge hugs for that! And yes, please, I’d love to have RM linked from your Mona Lisa. Whether that happens, I’ll still tout her and your project. Awesome! ~ Julie

Julie, I can’t tell you how pleased I am that you came here and left such a wonderful message! I’m thrilled that you’re the first person to comment here. :D

I’ll send you an email tomorrow asking you for some more detail, but for now I’ve put up your link on the Mona Lisa. It’s not where you were expecting it to go though, so for everyone else there are still five sections up for grab

Thank you so much Julie. I’m smiling from ear to ear.

Dave

You are one creative and genuinely fantastic guy, and I hopehopehope you’ll succeed in everything you’ve set out to do!

Fortunately for me, you and the Mona Lisa I have plenty of websites that are backlink starved, so I’m sure I’ll still end up bidding.

Catch you later!

What a great thing to do. I’m here via a tweet from Tara Cain.

Hi Sandy, Tara is my favourite blogger in the whole world. And I’d say that even if she didn’t retweet my stuff.
There is a space left and it’s all yours! I’ll send you an email later with some of the info I need.
Thanks Sandy!!

Michael, thanks for showing an interest. All is not lost. I’m going to be doing this again later in the week so please stick around.
I wanted to set a limit with this one so that I could get a feel for the workload and iron out any glitches. So far so good. So please do keep watching, it would be great to have you involved here.
Dave.

I found your site through Tim Brownson’s Twitter feed – congratulations for such a wonderful idea and I know it will be a great success. I’ll be sending links to as many people as I can think of – some have great charitable causes. Fortunately, I’m not one of them so I’ll be bidding for a spot for my blog! An absolutely fantastic project and one of the best uses of the internet’s reach and community I’ve seen. Good on you!

Strawberry Fields, thank you and welcome! Tim is great guy and very funny. I like him because he doesn’t take himself (or anyone else) too seriously.
That has to rank as one of the best compliments I’ve ever received! Thank you.
As it happens, you may not have to bid for a spot as I’ll be offering some more free spots pretty soon.
Please do pass on the details to those you know with a good cause to promote, I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks again,
Dave.

Hi Dave, I found you via Sandy at Baby Baby, and Tara at Sticky Fingers- I love this idea and wish I had thought of it (puts our Bloggers for Haiti in the shade!).

I would love to be included if I may? And I have a suggestion for a charity, as on one of the pages it says you were looking for suggestions. Can I suggest a charity for Neo Natal babies? I’m not sure if you will be donating just to US charities, but if not, Bliss is a very worthy cause for all Prem babies- their work certainly helped my son.

My blog is at http://20somethingmum.blogspot.com

Thank you xxx

Hi Claire, I think I gave you the wrong link. Sorry. Plus you got caught in the spam filter and I have no idea why but I wanted to explain the delay.

I’ve moved this comment over to Giving Away Another 10 Sections of the Mona Lisa. I’ll see you over there in a mo. :D

Hey! Hey! I’m on the grid!

Still very confused, this site has not been optimized for those on copious amounts of cold and flu medication.

Good to see you back! I was not very present for some months because of family tragedy (OMG, email me for deets if that bigmouth Brownson didn’t tell you everything already) but so looking forward to getting caught up!

Hi Tracy,
The site is also not optimised for sleep deprivation or stomach bloat, but all those things are on my list of things to do never.

No TimBro didn’t say a word. He insists he’s got this thing called client confidentiality. Odd fellow that he is.

I read your blog and gathered that you were super busy and also dealing with difficult circumstances, so it’s good to see you back. You are back aren’t you?
