The new focus of this site will be Positive Thinking but rest assured the Charity Challenge will live on.

The amazing goal of this project is to raise One Million Dollars and give a huge 25% chunk of it away to charity.

That’s a massive challenge… but it’s possible!

First of all I should point out that this is a business, but a business with a social conscience. I offer a website promotion service where you get some great promotion in return for sponsoring a section of the Mona Lisa with 25% of the sponsorship fee being donated to charities. One Million Dollars!!??

It is an enormous challenge but I honestly do believe it’s possible – however, I freely admit I find the prospect pretty daunting.

So, it makes sense to set smaller goals along the way to the main goal – so I decided to create the Charity Challenge!

The challenge is to set an achievable target figure and then go all out to reach it.

Where previously the donations were made on a monthly basis, now they’re made whenever we reach the target fugure.

This way we have something to push for and we’ll be able to donate more significant sums of money and make it truly meaningful.

Here’s how the Charity Challenge works:

For each new challenge I’ll publish a post on the blog inviting you to nominate the charity or good cause of your choice.

From the nominations 5 charities or good causes will be chosen (probably by a panel).

I’ll publish a post with a description and links to each of the charities together with links to the people who nominated them.

I’ll set the target sum which I refer to as the Charity Fund.

Throughout the course of the challenge people will be able to vote for the charity of their choice and the one that recieves the most votes will receive 60% of the Charity Fund - the other 4 will receive 10% each.

I want to make it clear that this isn’t a popularity contest, because I know each of the good causes will be equally deserving but in the end, all five charities will receive a donation and lots of publicity, so everybody wins! It’s really just my way to ensure that the readers and supporters of this project have a voice and a chance to influence the outcome.

There’s no time frame in which to complete the challenge – the challenge will be met when we’ve sold enough sponsorships to reach the target sum. It could take a week or several weeks but that’s half the fun of it!
