Please help me get this site noticed
It’s a numbers thing! It’s about getting as many people to come and read the site as possible. (By the way, these things will work just as well for your own site!)
The more people who come to read this site – the more people will go to read your site.
It’s also about convincing people that they have a reason to stay and be part of the Mona Lisa Million. Getting them to invest in the concept and the community. I’m gearing up to do that from my end, but I also need your help.
I said right from the start that supporting the site doesn’t necessarily mean bidding on the auctions, there are other ways to be part of this and help the cause.
If you like what you’re seeing here, if you like the idea and the concept then please take a few minutes to do one of the following:
1. Add MisterGoodGuy.com to your blogroll
You can call the site whatever you like. You could use Mister Good Guy, Mona Lisa Million, Mona Lisa Project, mistergoodguy.com, or something else, but if there’s space for me in your sidebar I’d appreciate it. Oh, and if you do, please let me know so that I can thank you!
2. Write a blog post
It’s safe to say that you probably have more readers than I currently do. It’s just the way it is right at the start. If it fits with your site and your schedule, please let your readers know about the deluded Englishman who reckons he can raise $1 million by auctioning an image of the Mona Lisa. Let me know if you write a post and I’ll make a beeline to your site to express my gratitude.
3. Comment
Help me make the place look alive and buzzing. Ask a question, tell me off, offer advice or just say hello!
4. Stumble/Delicious/Twitter/Etc
Having a listing or two in the bookmarking sites won’t hurt. Well, it might if there’s enough traffic – but I’m willing to suffer the pain. The links to the bookmarking site are at the end of the post where it says “Sharing Is Caring”.
It’s also probably correct to say that you have more Twitter followers than I do, so if you wouldn’t mind sharing the site with them, that would be fantastic. Oh, and if you could in any way convince them to follow my Twitter account @MisterMonaLisa that would be terrific!
5. RSS Feed
I’ve always wanted to display one of those ‘chicklets’ that shows the number of RSS Subscribers, but I can’t quite bring myself to display it. I’ll display it when there are 100 subscribers but I still need a lot more to get there!
And A Big Thank You
While we’re on the subject I just wanted to say thanks to Strawberry Fields AKA Mazda__Madness who writes about renovating an old Mazda MX5. Strawbs (great name!) gave the site its first Digg and Stumble.
What do you think?
Can you help me with a Stumble or a blogroll link? Could you convince any of your friends to take a look at the site? Anything you can do would be appreciated and please let me know how you helped in the comments so that I can say thank you.
Cheers
Dave
